Shanahy at the Casino Star

A lively concert of Celtic music; jigs, reels, waltzes, airs and songs!! Shanahy specializes in traditional music from the Scotland and Ireland. Come and enjoy an evening of fiddles, highland pipes, cauldwind pipes, irish pipes, whistle, flute, bodhran, guitars, and male & female vocals. The members of the group are Kate MacLeod, Andrew Morrill, Bronwen Beecher and Mark Hazel.
Tickets for the 7:30 pm performance can be purchased at Rasmussen Hardware in Gunnison, Kopy Kats Printing in Ephraim and the Messenger Office in Manti. Suggested donations are $12 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.

US Open Snowkite Masters

The 6th annual Snowkite Masters will once again host the US Open National Championships at Skyline, Utah. A winter version of Course Racing will blend the Kitercross and Winduro races into longer and more challenging runs for this years Athletes.

This event includes a 25 mile and a 50 mile ride in the country just north of the Gunnison Cemetery. Base camp at the old rodeo grounds. Cost is $50.00 for the 25 mile ride and $85.00 for the 50 mile ride. This includes a catered Dutch Oven dinner after the ride at the Gunnison Park. Mormon Miracle Pageant

For an exciting evening under a canopy of stars, join us at the foot of the magnificent Manti Utah Temple to watch the Mormon Miracle Pageant. The pageant’s three intertwined stories of the restoration of the gospel, the witness of the Book of Mormon, and the journey of the faithful pioneers to the beautiful Sanpete Valley, demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ for all people.

Fairview Museum of History and Art will present the 19th Annual Fairview Lace Days, July 12-14 in cooperation with the Beehive Lacers. Classes will be held Monday and Wednesday from 10 am to 4 pm., with pre-registration required. Non participants are welcome to observe. Participants must have a basic knowledge of lacing.
On Tuesday, July 13th, bring your own lace and join the lacers from 10 am to 4 pm. Come anytime and learn more about the different types of lace and the tools used to make it. There will be demonstrations information and vendor’s sellling supplies.

Sanpete Classic Bike Race

The Sanpete Valley will host bicycle racing enthusiasts from across Utah in the 5th annual Classic Bicycle Race. Cyclists of all ages will compete in 45, 72, and 98-mile races on courses that wind through the local countryside. This course offers rolling hills and beautiful scenery, all without a lot of automobile traffic. The somewhat quiet Main Street of Spring City also provides a great location to see each of the categories battle it out for bragging rights and prizes. The race features categories for men, women, juniors 17 or younger, and master-level competitors.
